A love story

Il Melograno was born in the heart of Trani, a stone's throw from the greenery of Piazza della Repubblica, which has always been a meeting place for citizens due to its central position and adjacent to all the main attractions of the city.

Trani is a city particularly loved and appreciated, both by the population living in the adjacent areas and by tourists, for its historical and architectural beauty and for the food and wine tradition. The Cathedral of Trani and the Swabian Castle are undoubtedly the best known cultural monuments, which attract the curious eyes of many tourists who venture through the main streets of the city to discover the most beautiful views.

At this point, after so much wandering, stopping for lunch is a must: Trani restaurant is an integral part of the beauty of this city, because it brings with it the traditions, the genuineness of the products and the sea directly to the table.

We at Il Melograno believe in this added value because we feel an indissoluble bond that unites us to this city. This is why we choose to respect its gastronomic history every day, without ceasing to look forward to innovation. We combine the Apulian culinary traditions with the gourmet reinterpretations and experiments that our chefs carry out, combining the first choice of seasonal products with the creativity of their own flair.

Explore

Il Melograno restaurant is well placed to explore the main attractions of the city.

Town park

Roof garden overlooking the sea that occupies a large part of a promontory located between two strips of land, delimiting 3 bays; on the peninsula to the west stands the cathedral of Trani, on the one to the east the monastery and the church of S. Maria di Colonna. The Villa Comunale is an enviable jewel.

Tourist port

Our city boasts a tourist port where it is pleasant to take long walks, observe the fishermen's nets returning from the sea, and get excited in the late afternoon when the sky is colored and gives us a picturesque and suggestive sunset.

Piazza della Repubblica

It is the central square of the city, consisting of two large rectangular open spaces: one of the two houses two fountains and various benches on which to sit and chat in the shade of the many trees that fill the square. Here, moreover, there is the bronze statue dedicated to Giovanni Bovio, a famous Italian philosopher born in our city.

Cathedral of Trani

The cathedral of Trani, whose official name is Cathedral Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, commonly known as San Nicola Pellegrino, is the main place of Catholic worship in the city of Trani, in Puglia, mother church of the archdiocese of Trani-Barletta-Bisceglie and, since 1960, a minor basilica

The Swabian Castle

The Swabian Castle of Trani was built in the city of Trani in 1233, under the reign of Frederick II of Swabia; it is one of the most important and best readable among the Frederick castles, despite some transformations that have partially modified its original structure.
